DENIM & DIAMONDS FAQ's
Why didn't you just postpone the Gala 'till Fall?
Frankly, we need the money to fund our summer operations. A third of our budget is raised every year at the Gala. Like many organizations, our expenses have increased during COVID-19. Due to distancing requirements, we have less kids and more staff, we have employed a full time janitor and we continually serve between 450-520 lunches per day. When not helping at the Club, our staff has been been busy helping through out the community. Your support is more crucial than ever.
We also know our patrons love a party with a purpose! The Dinner and Drive-In gives patrons the opportunity to get out of the house and support our cause. We are depending on the Treasure Valley to come through and support us just like they do every other year at the Gala. We look forward to seeing you!!
What are the Dinner Choices?
Charcuterie Box (Smoked & Cured Meats, Homemade Pickled Vegetables, Fresh Seasonal Fruits & Vegetables, Artisan Breads & Cheeses, House-Smoked Nuts, Olives, Crackers, Assorted Spreads) or Gala Box Lunch (Hummus w/ crackers & veggies, house smoked turkey or marinated tri-tip sandwich on artisan bread, mac salad, fresh fruit and homemade fudge for dessert)
Are you having the Car Raffle?
Every year our Treasure Valley friends look forward to purchasing tickets for our classic car raffle. This year selling tickets has been almost impossible,. Even though we are forced to operate in a virtual world, the Idaho Lottery Commission prohibits us from selling raffle tickets online. Our opportunities to sell those tickets in person have been virtually non-existent. We will still raffle our car, a BEAUTIFUL 1970 Chevelle, but the drawing will be held on August 21st instead of at the Gala. We won't sell any more than 1500 tickets and we hope that you will continue to support us by buying tickets.
How does registration work?
Starting today you can purchase tickets for the dinner & movie and start previewing auction items. You can also preregister your credit card so that you won't miss out on any of the fun because of "technical issues"!
How can I participate starting on May 1st?
The Silent Auction will open for bidding on May 1st at www.bgcngala.givesmart.com.
What if I don't want to go to the Idaho Center on May 8th?
You can participate from home. Silent Auction item bidding will open on May 1 and close on May 8. Time TBD. Videos of the event will be available online that evening also www.bgcngala.givesmart.com.
What's happening at the Idaho Center?
Join us for dinner, an auction and a movie (all with proper social distancing!) Dinners will be served grab & go style from the safety of your car. You will then be directed to a parking spot that is within appropriate distance from your neighbors. Bidding will be done on your phone (just like the people at home) so that everyone has the same chance.
What about Bathrooms?
We will have ten port-a-potties that will be disinfected after each use.
Can I park by my friends?
Just enter your request when you order your tickets for the Dinner and Drive-In and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How do I pay for my purchases?
A credit card is required for bidding. So once you register and provide that card, you are set!
How are you keeping everyone safe?
First, we have a stay at home option for people that feel more secure that way. Secondly, all activities at the Idaho Center will take place within your car (except restrooms which we addressed above!) Cars will be parked a safe distance from each other. Meals will be handed through the window drive-thru style. (We have gotten very fast at that, serving 450-500 meals a day at the Club!) and all bidding will be done online.
How will I hear the movie?
It will be broadcast through a station on your radio. Details forthcoming.
Does everyone in my car need a ticket?
Yes, no sneaking anyone in by putting them in the trunk!
